As a child, Jacob loved hearing the stories his grandfather shared with him. As he got older, he no longer believed them to be true. Until something happens and Jacob is the only witness.
This started out so slow. I didn't like Jacob and had an issue connecting to him. At the beginning, he came across as privileged and a little entitled. By the end, I liked Jacob more than I did in the beginning. But, he wasn't a strong character for me. This was interesting. But, I expected, I dunno, more. More suspense? Spookiness?
The "romance" between Jacob and someone was creepy. This person had a thing for Abe, and then for the grandson. "...this teenaged old woman, this rather beautiful girl who had loved my grandfather when he was the age I am now." Ick.
Unresolved, cliffhanger ending. Am I interested enough to read the next? No. I took me a week to get through this one.
I did like the pictures throughout. They added a unique element to the story.
