This was actually pretty good for a freebie. I liked the plot and the different directions it took. I wish Connie had cried a little less, but she also did a few bad-ass things I liked. Rurik was a likeable hero even if I didn't like him at first. He redeems himself quickly. This is the first in a series, but wraps up nicely with no cliffhanger. I would definitely recommend for vampire fans.
